Math Olympiads Contest

Introduction

Mathematic Olympiads exists for school students to learn challenging math and to improve the mathematical skills of participants through year round competitions. The most prestigious of these contests is the International Mathematical Olympiads, in which school students from more than 100 countries compete annually.

Description

Mathematic Olympiads prepares students in fostering interest in solving mathematical problems. The syllabus covers expository theories in algebra, geometry, combinatorics and number theory. The classes teach students based on individual progress and relate closely with school academic standard that help to increase their knowledge and skills.

GEOMETRY

A branch of mathematics that deals with the measurement, properties, and relationships of points, lines, angles, surfaces, and solids.

LOGICAL REASONING

Process of using a rational, systematic series of steps based on sound mathematical procedures and given statements to arrive at a conclusion.

ALGORITHM

An algorithm in mathematics is a procedure, a description of a set of steps that can be used to solve a mathematical computation but they are much more common than that today.

IMAGINATION & OBSERVATION

Imagination could be “the faculty or action of forming new ideas, or images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses.” Meanwhile, a mathematical observation is the detection or assertion of a truth in the context of a mathematical activity.

INTEGRATED COMPUTING

An integral is a mathematical object that can be interpreted as an area or a generalization of area. The process of computing an integral is called integration (a more archaic term for integration is quadrature), and the approximate computation of an integral is termed numerical integration.
